Saint James Place

Saint James Place is a premiere retirement community in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This award-winning project doubled the size of the existing community and dramatically increased the services it provides. The expanded CCRC includes 74 apartments, 20 garden homes, 64 nursing beds, 30 assisted living units, and the renovation of an existing facility to provide 24 memory impaired nursing units. The overall program also involved renovations to the existing commons, as well as a new commons anchoring the expanded campus. Duncan Walker served as Principal in Charge and primary designer at CSD, the Architect of Record. Bodman, Webb Noland and Giudroz served as Associate Architect. AIA/AAHSA Design for Aging Award, 2001.
